Where each number comes from, no black box
No AI in the math: it is Meta public pricing multiplied by your volume. Brazil is billed in reais (BRL) on Meta own rate card since 1 July 2026. These are the per delivered message prices the calculator uses:

Utility and authentication are confirmed in Meta official documentation (USD 0.0068 per message for Brazil, equivalent to R$ 0.0350). Marketing is around R$ 0.32 per message, in a range of R$ 0.31 to R$ 0.38 on Meta rate card in reais, with no volume discount. Always confirm on the official rate card before a large budget, because Meta adjusts the table and publishes final per-country rates.
Questions about WhatsApp cost
- Does WhatsApp charge for every message I send?
- Only on the WhatsApp Business Platform, the official API used for automation, bulk sending and system integration. The free WhatsApp Business app on the phone does not charge per message. On the platform, since 1 July 2025, billing is per delivered message, no longer per 24-hour conversation. Each marketing, utility or authentication template is charged individually.
- How much does each message category cost in Brazil?
- Utility and authentication cost about R$ 0.035 per message in Brazil, confirmed in Meta official documentation. Marketing is the most expensive category and is always charged. Service messages, the replies within the 24-hour window opened by the customer, are free today. The calculator uses these prices to estimate your monthly total.
- How can I pay less on WhatsApp?
- Reply fast to keep the 24-hour service window open, which today makes replies free. Use the free 72-hour window that opens when you answer a contact coming from a click-to-WhatsApp ad. Prefer utility over marketing whenever the message allows, because utility is much cheaper. And qualify contacts so you do not spend a message on someone who will not buy.
- What changes on 1 October 2026?
- Meta announced that, from that date, service messages and utility messages sent inside the service window become billable again, at the per-message price of the country. Final rates for Brazil were promised by 1 September 2026. So today free window has a deadline, and it is worth tracking the change before planning next quarter cost.
- Does this cost already include the support platform?
- No. This is what you pay Meta directly for messages. The platform that organizes support is a separate thing.
